A MktCon Panel Series: Seniors' Suggestions

MktSoc is excited to announce its first-ever Marketing Society Virtual Senior Panel, taking place tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29! A group of 10 unique marketing-focused seniors will be sharing their diverse perspectives and experiences from their college journey at NYU. Each senior has an impressive resume under their belt with experiences from exciting start-ups to major industry leaders. The senior panelists represent marketing within a variety of different industries, such as Retail, Consulting, Sustainable Business, and Data. This panel will be moderated by our lovely Senior Panel Head and Co-Director of Professional Outreach and Conference Planning, Caroline Tian!

Sustainable Business and Marketing

Claire Tao

I’m a senior studying Marketing and Sustainable Business with a minor in Psychology, and I currently serve as the Co-President of Marketing Society. I’ve had a wide variety of experiences in the marketing field, from working at a 5-person startup in Shanghai to interning with IBM this past summer. I’m really interested in brand and product strategy and am passionate about education, politics, and design. In my spare time, I like trying new recipes, running along the East River, and scrolling through Twitter.

Jennifer (Jenny) Tao

I am currently a senior pursuing a B.S. in Business with concentrations in Marketing and Sustainable Business and a minor in Environmental Studies. For education/career orientated interests, I am passionate about climate change, ESG investing, climate/green bonds, corporate accountability, human rights, and social action. For leisure during quarantine, I love to cuddle with my puppy; moreover, I have been attempting to bake! I am very involved with the United Nations, specifically with UNICEF and UNAI. In the past, I have interned with KPMG, IRMA, L’Oreal, and UNICEF USA.


Data Science and Marketing

Makena Naegele

Graduating this December, I am double majoring and concentrating in Data Science and Marketing. I will be working full-time at Capgemini, a technology consulting firm in New York, on the Digital Customer Experience (DCX) team. This summer, my internship at Ogilvy on the Strategy Team got turned into a virtual learning Fellowship. I have also interned for Ecolab, Pikup, Burrow, and while I studied abroad in Shanghai, I interned for Bayan Ka La. I was on the BAC Insight Team last fall and attend EEG, Venture Society, and MktSoc meetings. I am also a USWIB mentor.


Irene Ahn

I'm currently a senior studying marketing and data science. I am involved in Management Consulting Group and Beta Alpha Psi at Stern, and I am also involved in the Korean Student Association at NYU. I've worked for hospitality, media, and tech companies in marketing roles. This summer, I worked at Microsoft as a Product Marketing intern in the Windows commercial marketing team. I'm also the marketing peer mentor for Stern this year, so I hope to provide students with some help!




Entertainment

Jessica Fung

Concentration: Computing & Data Science, Marketing

Minor: Producing, Mathematics

Hometown: Toronto, ON, Canada

Interests: All things entertainment-related!

Layla Passman

I’m a senior studying American Studies in the school of social and cultural analysis in CAS and minoring in BEMT. I’m from Chicago, and I’m currently a Marketing and Strategy intern at PAPER Magazine. I have also worked on campaigns for GAP, HBO, and many others as a Brand Partnerships intern at Paper. Last year, I worked at World Alliance Group, and last summer, I was an intern at Influenster. I’m mostly interested in creative strategy and experiential marketing, specifically relating to entertainment like film and TV. I’m also a social coordinator for STEBA. I love watching films, and I love politics!

Film & Streaming


Liam Fleming

I’m majoring in business with a double concentration in finance and marketing, and I am also pursuing a minor in cinema studies within Tisch. With regard to marketing, I am interested in film, licensing for streaming services, and retail branding and licensing. I currently intern at World Alliance Group, which deals with retail consulting and brand licensing. I am also Co-President of STEBA and the Entertainment Peer Mentor for the Stern Peer Mentorship Team.


Fred Sidorkin

I'm currently working at a startup right now in the Music Industry, for which I'm doing mostly data analytics. I've also had heavy involvement in the branding side with respect to websites/pitch decks/videos.

Caroline Tian is Marketing Society's 2020-2021 Co-Director of Professional Outreach and Conference Planning. She is a sophomore at NYU LS, studying Economics and Computer Science. Outside of school and Marketing Society, you can find her trying out new food places, going to the beach, or online shopping. She is extremely excited to be heading this panel as the moderator.


Pooja Anand is Marketing Society's 2020-2021 Co-Director of Professional Outreach and Conference Planning at NYU Marketing Society. She is a sophomore at NYU Stern, concentrating in Marketing and Sustainable Business with minors in Spanish and Psychology.


Jeff Chan is Marketing Society's Fall 2020 Conference Advisor. He is a junior at NYU CAS, studying Management and Economics with a minor in Sociology.


Camille Rochaix is Marketing Society's 2020-2021 Co-Vice President and Founder / Editor of the Marketing Society Blog. Camille is currently a Junior at NYU Stern concentrating in Marketing and minoring in Media, Culture and Communications and Business of Entertainment, Media & Technology.
